Shree Diliprao Deshmukh
Diliprao Dagdojirao Deshmukh (born 18 April 1950 (1950-04-18) (age 59)) is the former Minister of Rehabilitation and Relief Work of Maharashtra, in Ashok Chavan government. Deshmukh did sworn in on 1 March 2009, after the Indian National Congress party selected him to be Minister on 29 February 2009.
Political career
He started his political career from Babhalgaon, Latur as a Sarpanch. Then he became Vice Chairman of Latur Market Committee, President of Latur Zilla Parishad, Chairman of Latur District Central Co-Operative Bank.
In the year 1999-2000 he was elected as M.L.C from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Constituency and later joined as Minister of State for Finance & Planning in February 2003. In 2000, Deshmukh became Vice Chairman of Maharashtra State Co-Operative Bank.
In March 2009, Deshmukh became Minister for Relief & Rehabilitation, Sports, Youth Welfare & Protocol. He is the president of Manjara Charitable Trust Latur, a charitable voluntary organization which runs many schools, colleges in Latur & Mumbai, some of them are Sushiladevi Deshmukh College Latur, Manjara Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital Latur, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
